Driving Change at NYC Climate Week 2024
At Green My Experience, we are committed to making every event a positive force for the planet. For our participation in NYC Climate Week, we’ve implemented impactful strategies to reduce our carbon footprint and inspire sustainable change.
Sustainable Actions & Impacts
Paperless Communication
All event communications are conducted via QR codes, eliminating the need for printed materials.
Waste Reduction
Recycling programs were in place to minimize waste, helping reduce the event’s landfill contribution.
Water Conservation
Water dispensers were available to avoid the use of plastic bottles.
Reusable Materials
Reusable cutlery and dishes were used to eliminate single-use disposables.
Growing a Forest, One Attendee at a Time
For every attendee at the Green My Experience event, we are planting a tree in La Maestra, Costa Rica, as part of our reforestation project, The Forest Effect. This initiative not only offsets the carbon footprint of the event but also contributes to restoring vital ecosystems and supporting local communities. By joining us, you’re actively helping to make a lasting impact on the planet.
Our Team’s Impact
Our small team of five traveled from Costa Rica to NYC, staying for one week. We carefully calculated our carbon footprint and took steps to minimize our environmental impact during the entire journey.
By choosing sustainability, we’re showing what’s possible at events—and beyond.
Total Carbon Footprint
To offset this footprint, 15 trees will be planted through The Forest Effect project, ensuring our participation in the event leaves a positive environmental impact.
Air Travel Emissions (Round Trip)
2.5 metric tons of CO₂e per team member, totaling 12.5 metric tons CO₂e.
Accommodation (1 Week Stay)
0.3 metric tons of CO₂e per team member, totaling 1.5 metric tons CO₂e.
Local Transportation (Taxis, Rideshare, etc.)
0.05 metric tons of CO₂e per team member, totaling 0.25 metric tons CO₂e.
