The challenge
Cozumel welcomes millions of cruise passengers a year, and Tripping Cool is part of how those visitors meet the island: beaches, cenotes, ruins, the beach house, the mariachi. An operator like that doesn't need convincing to care for the destination — the destination is the business.
What it needed was a path. The GSTC standard demands documented management across four pillars — sustainable management, socioeconomic impact, cultural heritage, and environmental impact — and for an operations team that usually means scattered folders, a consultant who leaves with the knowledge, and an audit you learn to fear. Tripping Cool chose a different route: build the file inside a platform, step by step, evidence by evidence, with the auditor looking at the same board.

Across 12 months of 2025, Monitor logged everything the operation consumes: office and beach-house energy, gas, water, waste, and every kilometer driven with tourists on board. Tripping Cool now knows what almost no operator does — how much CO₂ each tour generates per visitor. The star is All Inclusive Playa Uvas: a full beach day at just 36 grams of CO₂e per tourist, nearly 100 times less than the full-island route. Reducing stopped being guesswork.
