About GME

Built by an operator who needed it first.

Green My Experience wasn't designed in a consultancy. It was built by someone who spent 25 years running a sustainable tour operator — and turned what actually works into a system other operators can adopt.

A method built over 25 years, not written in a deck.

Before GME was a platform, it was the way one operator ran a real business — measured, certified, and improved, year after year.

  1. 1998

    Asuaire is founded

Cristina Calvo starts a tour operator in Costa Rica, built around Central America — and around sustainability before it was a category.

  2. 2010s

Certified to the top of the standard

Carbon Neutral Plus for 12+ years, B Corp status, Sustainable Tourism Elite, the Ecological Blue Flag — and 74% of suppliers certified alongside.

  3. 2022

    The method leaves the operation

Cris begins advising CCRA, a 50-year travel-industry player. The playbook built inside Asuaire steps into the wider B2B world.

  4. 2024

    On the global stage

Climate Week NYC, partnerships across the industry — the case that a small operator's method scales starts to land.

  5. 2025

    Productized as GME

After 25+ years running Asuaire, Cris steps away to build Green My Experience full-time — the methodology, turned into an operating system other operators can adopt.

The founder

Cristina Calvo

Founder & CEO

Cris founded Asuaire in 1998 and ran it for more than two decades as one of Costa Rica's most-certified sustainable operators. That's an unusual place to build software from — most sustainability tools come from consultants or engineers who never carried the operational risk themselves.

Her background spans four disciplines that rarely sit in one person — and all four are in the product.

  • Sustainability
  • Tourism operations
  • Marketing
  • Technology

A small team that has actually done the work.

GME is built and delivered by people who've run operations, sat for audits, and taught the courses — not a rotating bench of generalists.

Why we built it this way

Sustainability is an operation, not an event.

Most companies sell you an audit or a course and leave. We built GME as an operating system, not a certifier — so the point isn't a certificate on a wall. It's a business that stays measured, improves on purpose, and can prove it any day of the year.
